Do not Misinterpret Failure as Success

Sometimes our experiences develop a certain predilection in us for what is less than God’s best for us. We hold tightly to what is not good for us. The truth is sometimes we know there is more to life than what we have been served, and yet we lack the back bone and courage to step up to the plate and demand all that has our names on them.

John 8:31 -33
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham\’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

The scriptural account above is so instructive. We see Jesus offering freedom to the Jews that believed on Him. They, on the other hand, said because they were Abraham’s seed, they were not in bondage to any man. In their estimation they were free and therefore Jesus’ promise of freedom to them was misplaced. The truth is this; if you don’t see yourself as God sees you, you may mistake bondage for freedom. Think!
If you don’t reach for God’s vision and assignment for you but settle with your ambition, you will misinterpret failure as success. If you ignore God’s high calling for you, you will settle for mediocrity and not even know it.
As we still are in the morning of the year, you will want to reexamine your assumptions, perspectives, fears and thoughts. Put down whatever you are holding onto that is not consistent with the truth of God’s Word, and reach for God’s richest and best for your life.

Revelation 3:17 -18
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see.

God is not against your riches but when you call poverty riches God will not side with you. It is time we elevate our thinking through the Spirit to capture what God really wants for us. Other than that we run the risk of walking around naked, thinking we are clothed. Do not limit your life by your thinking. Unknown to the Laodicean church they were wretched and miserable and yet they held themselves out as successful.
Allow Jesus to challenge your thinking and paradigms. You know what, JESUS is radical in thought, word and action. If you will walk with him He will expand your intelligence. He will initiate you into new thinking and new realities. Jesus will open your eyes to the degree of your intimate acquaintance with Him. Do not hold on to what Jesus wants you to let go. He says, “I counsel you to buy from me gold tried in fire (this is gold that can’t be washed off by an economic crunch; permanent prosperity) and white raiment that you may be clothed (Emphasis mine). Following God‘s plan for you is not an orchestration to make you miserable. Jesus Christ is value in you. Cooperate with Him as He trains you to have dominion over all the Earth.
