Do not live a Small and Convenient Life!

There are many believers who are obsessed with the wrong idea that God cannot wait to destroy the earth and man. According to them God\’s major preoccupation is anxiously counting down to the time when he will consume the earth. This erroneous idea has only made these believers shirk the responsibility as God\’s children in managing the earth for God. The state of the earth is a reflection of the condition of the heart of the predominant men and women who are in charge of it.

What is God\’s disposition towards the Earth?
Luke 2:14 (New King James Version)
\”Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men\”.

The above scripture is the content of an angelic song the shepherds heard when they had a divine visitation to announce the birth of the Messiah, Christ Jesus the Lord. This is a revelation of the tune in heaven and the posturing of heaven towards the earth. God does not have any ill will towards the earth. He has paid the ultimate price of bringing man into favour with him. Peace and prosperity on earth, and favour to all men who will say yes to God\’s invitation through Jesus Christ.

The scripture below captures the essence of God\’s outreach through Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:19 (Amplified)
\”It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favour with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favour)\”.

You Have a Duty to Manage the Earth for God!
What God did through Christ He wants to do through you. To do that, He has given you the message of restoring man and the earth to Himself. You have a duty to subdue the earth for God. A small and convenient life is not what you have been called to live. You must be relevant enough to restore a portion of the earth to God. If all believers were to live like this the earth would be a different place. You and I are the ones God is going to use to make the earth a reflection of heaven.

 Do not be Passive!
This calls for bold action on your part. You must begin to live deliberately knowing why you are here. Pursue and discover the call of God on your life and cooperate with the corresponding grace that goes with your call. You have a role to play in realizing the plan of God for the earth. You cannot be passive. Do not be satisfied with just attending church services; allow God to live through you. You are responsible for the earth as God\’s manager on the earth. Let us use the authority we have in Christ to take charge of the earth. The earth is the Lord\’s and the fullness thereof; the world and those who dwell therein (Psalm 24:1). It ought to be on earth as it is in heaven!

Rule and subdue the earth!
